Business Entity Taxes
My strong tax background has proven invaluable in my forensic and fraud services especially in multi-entity organizations. As noted elsewere on this site my tax experience started early in my audit career and has continues through today. Additionally, staying current by teaching business tax at UCSD and to the business community has proved to be invaluable in providing these services.
My knowledge and services cover most all business entities; C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies (LLCs), limited liability partnerships (LLPs), single member LLCs and sole proprietorships (Schedule C); including controlled groups and consolidations.
I represent businesses when being audited by the IRS or FTB. My services in recent audits allow the business management team to carry on with their duties leaving the primarity contact with the IRS up to me. Many times, I'm engaged to help with tax audits after they begin with another advisor and there are many proposed and unjustified proposed adjustments or other problems with the audit. My track record is audits resulting in no change in issues that can be and should be challenged. I have a team of CPAs and tax attorneys that work together and share knowledge and experiences as needed to unsure a proper challenge to the taxing authority.
I designed the business tax course at UCSD in 1999 and taught the class through 2008. Additionally I offer CPE sessions on business tax for CPAs, law firms and corporate tax departments.
